President Trump demands that the U.S. Congress not take a holiday until his spending bill is passed before Independence Day on July 4.

The bill is stalled in the Senate due to internal divisions. According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the bill could increase the federal deficit by an additional $2.4 trillion over 10 years, not accounting for interest. When fully accounted, the total cost could exceed $3.4 to $5 trillion.

Meanwhile, the Senate is still trying to amend the bill to comply with regulations and achieve a majority vote. House Speaker Mike Johnson said, "The President is very adamant about this deadline... I remain very optimistic that we will get it done."
