I studied MapleStory U a bit and rambled a few words about my understanding of this game.
️⃣ It shouldn't be just a platform to make quick money, because it's not worth it. Whether it's the value of the MapleStory IP or the wealth of its parent company Nexon, launching a cryptocurrency project just to make a little money at the expense of their reputation is not worth it for them.
️⃣ Currently, it's not a very lucrative game; the earnings can't compete with delivering food. According to many people's shares of around $2 per hour, this game might be suitable for the long term, but I haven't felt any signs of a breakout so far.
️⃣ The project team is cautiously and frequently making adjustments to the values. The most important thing is the balance of the values introduced in the game: how much is produced and how much is consumed. Since many players feel that the earnings do not meet expectations, there will be some adjustments made recently. Although I guess the adjustments won't be significant.
️⃣ There are still many bots; among the 200,000-300,000 daily active users, the studios cannot be underestimated, and they have affected the experience of many players (community feedback).
️⃣ The game hasn't been online for long, and many things are still under observation, but I think moderate low income is not a bad thing; it is more conducive to the long-term discovery of the game and the elimination of studios. However, for someone like me who trades cryptocurrencies, this asset is not of the short explosive type. It might be more like AXIE rather than STEPN.
️⃣ The team/investors are working hard @domidom88 @nexpacetime, which is one of the characteristics that attracts me.
️⃣ The value of traditional IP is yet to be proven. How many people are willing to play traditional MapleStory compared to MapleStory N, especially with so many game options now, the appeal of the game itself is crucial.
