According to a report by Deep Tide TechFlow, the blockchain intelligence company Elliptic has become a member of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to strengthen efforts against the funding of child sexual abuse materials through cryptocurrency. According to the IWF's 2024 annual report, cryptocurrency is a common payment method for child sexual abuse websites, with 518 out of 851 pages not hiding payment options supporting cryptocurrency transfers. This collaboration will enable Elliptic to access IWF's real-time cryptocurrency alert system to identify related payment networks and wallet addresses, helping clients block transactions associated with child abuse.
