$244 million losses from cryptocurrency attacks in May 2025, Cetus Protocol hacked for $220 million

According to reports from Wu, PeckShield monitoring shows that in May 2025, approximately 20 cryptocurrency attacks occurred, resulting in losses of $244 million, a 39% decrease from April. The Cetus Protocol was hacked for $220 million, making it the largest case of the month.

Currently, the Cetus Protocol has jointly frozen $157 million with SUI, with a recovery rate of 71%. The top five incidents also include Cork Protocol ($12 million), suspected North Korean attack ($5.2 million), Token MBU ($2.2 million), and MaplestoryU ($1.2 million).
