According to Odaily Planet Daily, a man named William Duplessie, suspected of kidnapping and torturing an Italian cryptocurrency investor in Manhattan, surrendered to the New York police on Tuesday. The case aims to force the victim, Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, to hand over his Bitcoin wallet keys through "physical and psychological abuse." Carturan was imprisoned for nearly three weeks since May 6, during which he was beaten, hung from the roof of a five-story building, and threatened with a gun, ultimately managing to escape and report to the police. The police stated that this case reflects a growing trend of violent attacks against cryptocurrency users.
