According to reports, in July 2024, Dough Finance was hacked due to a vulnerability, resulting in user losses of approximately 2.5 million USD. Although the founder promised to compensate for the losses, he subsequently launched a new project, World Liberty Financial, which profited at least 65 million USD. Dough user Jonathan Lopez sued founder Chase Herro, accusing him of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, seeking damages. The Dough website has been shut down, recovering only about 281,000 USD, and issuing tokens with no actual value as compensation.
