According to ChainCatcher, ZKSync has confirmed that it has received a notification of investigation from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the SEC regarding its zkEVM application. The regulators have preliminarily determined that certain entities within the ecosystem may have violated U.S. securities laws, anti-money laundering, and KYC compliance requirements, as well as being suspected of evading sanction regulations. In response, ZKSync has assembled an external legal team to handle the regulatory inquiries, advised U.S. users to suspend high-risk DeFi and cross-chain bridge operations, and is currently assessing risk exposure with key partners. The protocol emphasizes that it will maintain transparency but reminds ecosystem participants to exercise caution during the investigation period.
