According to Foresight News, Ethereum has reached the scheduled Pectra mainnet upgrade at Epoch 364032. Pectra is the first upgrade since the Cancun upgrade in March 2024, combining the Prague execution layer hard fork and the Electra consensus layer upgrade. Pectra plans to incorporate 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), which will bring key features that drive the development of Ethereum. Significant updates to the core user experience will be made through the implementation of smart accounts and delegation features. The staking function upgrade will make it easier for institutional and individual investors to secure the network. Improvements in integration with Layer 2 (L2) networks are expected to double network efficiency.
