According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptocurrency working group announced that it will hold a roundtable on May 12 themed 'Tokenization - Asset on the Chain: The Intersection of Traditional Finance and Decentralized Finance.'

Hester M. Peirce, head of the SEC cryptocurrency working group, stated that tokenization could fundamentally change many aspects of the financial markets.

The meeting will be held on May 12 from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time at the SEC headquarters in Washington, open to the public and broadcast live on the SEC's official website.

Additionally, the SEC announced that the previously scheduled roundtable on 'Decentralized Finance and the Spirit of America' on June 6 has been rescheduled to June 9.
