According to PANews, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the company has indefinitely postponed the release of its new open model, initially scheduled for next week. Altman emphasized the importance of conducting extensive safety tests, stating, "Once the model weights are released, they cannot be retracted. We want to ensure every aspect is optimized." The model, which will be available for developers to download and run locally, marks OpenAI's first open model release in recent years. Reports suggest that its reasoning capabilities are comparable to OpenAI's o-series models, aiming to be the best in its class.
