I don't know who needs to hear this but you CAN create protocols that both: 1. Legitimately enable decentralized, verifiably-fair coordination; AND 2. Generate lots of revenue (legitimately solving a user problem) Doing this isn't easy, but it is the winning path long term.

Organic netting is picking up as @EverclearOrg scales. Image below an example from yesterday. - Total flow: 183.289 ETH - Net flow: 12.696 ETH (!) That's an over 90% reduction, meaning that it cost Everclear only 0.0012 ETH to settle this - about $3 total. Clearance works!

One of the unfortunate consequences of surviving many cycles in this space: You become extremely jaded about every new project because the default is: *grift*. This is a warranted response, but it's also a losing attitude. Where is the REAL innovation happening today in web3?

A lot of economic activity that was formerly too complex/unscalable for humans becomes possible with agents. Examples: - Micropayments - Bartering - Information markets - Small-scale market making This is where crypto x AI should focus it's efforts.

All of the world's financial systems today utilize multilateral clearance. This happens through central clearinghouses like Visa, NYSE, the DTCC, and LCH (operating under the London Stock Exchange). The @EverclearOrg thesis is that clearance inevitably exists in DeFi too.

It saddens me that the biggest impact of our space in the next 2 years is likely to be panopticon/custodial stablecoin finance. There will absolutely be benefits to fintechs expanding to global south using blockchain rails. But at the cost of greatly strengthened USD hegemony.

Part of why I'm tweeting about AI is bc people in crypto are pretty myopic about it. > Most crypto x AI is garbage > Most builders are >12mo behind on AI innovation curve > Most users believe it's all hype But ironically, web3 is one of few things that can prevent AI dystopia

The macro transition from a labor-based economy to a property-based one under AI automation is extremely bullish for crypto + decentralized ownership models. Why? As automation trickles through the economy, we will see a collapse of BOTH wages (as employment increases) AND consumption (as cash decreases). In this future, where do cashflows actually come from? => Ownership of productive assets
