According to PANews, the Solana Policy Institute has committed $500,000 to fund the legal defense of Roman Storm and Alexey Pertsev, developers of the decentralized privacy service Tornado Cash. Both Storm and Pertsev have been convicted for their roles in creating the service, with Storm facing charges in the United States and Pertsev in the Netherlands.
The media outlet noted that previous substantial donations have been made for Storm's legal defense. The Solana Policy Institute's pledge is particularly noteworthy as it comes from outside the Ethereum ecosystem, where Tornado Cash was initially deployed.
