According to PANews, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that during a White House meeting, discussions were held with European leaders regarding security assurances for Ukraine. These assurances are to be provided by European nations in coordination with the United States. Following the meeting, President Trump communicated with Russian President Vladimir Putin and initiated arrangements for a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The location for this meeting is yet to be determined. After this meeting, a trilateral discussion involving the presidents of Russia, Ukraine, and Trump will take place. Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Rubio, and Special Envoy Witkov are currently coordinating with Russia and Ukraine.
Sources indicate that the United States aims to facilitate the meeting between Putin and Zelensky by the end of August. German Chancellor Merz stated that the meeting is expected to occur within two weeks.
