According to the most recent report from DappRadar, total investment in Web3 gaming projects in July this year peaked at $60 million, reversing the slow pace seen over the previous three months. The investment in the gaming category is now more focused on games primarily for fun.
Sara Gherghelas, the analyst at DappRadar, said that March still holds the title of the month with the highest funding of $69 million for Web3 games. Yet, after slowness in April, May, and June, now funds have once again started to flow, but in projects with proven teams, strong IP, or infrastructure supporting multiple games.
DappRadar’s reports underline that the opBNB chain is the top in gaming activity, followed by Sei, which suddenly changed its position, reaching 2nd. Nevertheless, gaming is still dominant, yet the gap in AI applications is becoming narrower day by day.
Fun-focused games are becoming the top preference of investors
The report states that in the recent months, the Web3 gaming sector marked an uptick of 2% reaching a mark of 4.9 million daily unique active wallets, making it solely segment to record positivity.
It is worth noting that the largest deal was of Reaper Actual by Distinct Possibility Studio of $30.5 million, an MMORPG based on Ronin, which has grown past 300,000 daily active wallets following MegaDrop Part 1.
STAN gathered $8.5 million in funding from Google, Nazara, and Japanese gaming firms, and in the same month, Delabs Games raised $5.2 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total fundraising to $17.2 million.
In just 15 days of August 2025, the gaming category has successfully raised $2,500,000. Over the past 24 hours, trending blockchain games are My Guardian Base with a UAW of 29.17k, which grew by 2,307.01% followed by Ludo Royale with 24 UAW, which is up by 2,300% and AI Nexus has reached 689 UAW with a growth of 960%.
The GameFi category is topped by Kawaii Puzzle, followed by PlayEmber, Moonveil, Lumiterra, IDEL Glory, and Bit Hotel; however, World of Dypians is at the top in the Play2Earn segment, mimicked by KGeN, Pixudi, SERAPH: In The Darkness, Alien Worlds, Kawaii Puzzle, and PlayEmber.
