Something I will always repeat to others and I firmly stand by: Never invest for others. Not even family. If you want to help them? Share some of the spoils of the profits you make (that's what I do at least with family). Years ago I started and made some good profits. I might be partially to blame as well as I made the mistake of being quite euphoric that I did. Word spread a bit amongst family and they asked me to do it for them. Initially I even 4x'd their money online and asked them what I should do with it. "It's going great right? Let it keep growing" Eventually some circumstances happened that made me lose most of it. It was tough to explain this. Even worse, through guilt I actually paid their entire investment back out of my own pocket and earnings. So technically they had the upside but not carry any single risk. I'm not even going to talk about the performance issues you might endure through the emotional strain and stress managing others money that comes along with it. Basically the truth is: Investing for others with good will might seem fine. But in all honesty they likely won't even make money as they don't have the experience of an investor. It's a myth that they can make money because YOU have the experience. You made money and withdrew it for them? "Huh? You're already quitting but you are still making money?" You made money but waited to long to withdraw it? "Huh? Why didn't you sell sooner before it crashed?" There's no positive outcome ever and frankly managing others money will even make your performance drop considerably (mistakes happen due to bigger responsibility, stress and risk). MAKE MONEY YOURSELF AND SHARE SOME IF YOU FEEL GENEROUS.
