OG Bitcoin whale moves 10,000 BTC via Galaxy Digital, possible major sell-off ahead

Over 10,000 BTC (worth $1.18 billion) were transferred from Galaxy Digital to exchanges within 8 hours, likely linked to an OG Bitcoin whale holding 80,009 BTC — a wallet that had been dormant for 14 years.

The wallet reactivated on July 4, 2025, and now holds $9.68 billion worth of BTC — a 15.4 million percent increase since 2011. Analysts suggest this may be a strategic liquidation via Galaxy Digital’s OTC services. A study by Crypto Valley Journal previously indicated that large BTC transactions can lead to short-term downward pressure on prices.
