Shibarium, the layer-2 blockchain of the Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem, appears set to hit major milestones in the third quarter of 2025. The layer-2 blockchain could process up to 1,400,000,000 transactions by the end of Q3, based on its current growth potential.

Shibarium's current metrics point to explosive growth

According to data from Shibariumscan, current total transactions stand at 1,344,988,157. Other important metrics on the platform show 11,906,480 blocks and 267,017,597 total addresses.

According to U.Today,Shibarium experienced a significant increase in activity in July alone. This has fueled a positive boost in transaction volume and other critical indicators of growth in the ecosystem.

If the layer-2 ecosystem sustains the current momentum, before the end of Q3, Shibarium’s total block count could hit 12,000,000. Other possible milestones that Shibarium could hit are 1.4 billion total transactions and 268 million or more addresses.

These projections are based on the increasing adoption of layer-2 blockchain technology, as evidenced by the growing number of wallets connected to Shibarium. This signals that the ecosystem is gaining traction among users in the crypto space and could serve as a catalyst to achieving the milestones.

What’s fueling Shibarium’s surge?

In June, for instance, Shibarium experienced a staggering 7,154% surge in daily transaction volume within just five days. The development signaled a major recovery for the ecosystem after a slight period of declining interest from investors.

Following the spikes, the layer-2 blockchain achieved a significant milestone of 1.3 billion transactions just before the end of June. Users are anticipating the same level of engagement between now and the end of September to push the figures to new levels.

With the current level of total transactions at 1.34 billion, the ecosystem needs to grow by about 5% before the end of this quarter. Similarly, the block count needs to increase by approximately 1%, a goal that is achievable if the ecosystem receives the right support.
