Metaplanet, a Japan-based investment firm, has purchased an additional 1,234 BTC worth approximately $132.7 million, bringing its total holdings to 12,345 BTC. This acquisition pushes Metaplanet past Tesla (11,509 BTC) to become the seventh-largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder globally. The move comes shortly after the company raised $515 million to pursue its goal of accumulating 1% of Bitcoin's total supply. Despite recent stock declines, Metaplanet shares remain up over 350% year-to-date.
