South Korea and India are taking steps to deepen cooperation between their customs authorities, with both sides seeking smoother trade and fewer customs-related hurdles for businesses operating across the two markets.
The Korea Customs Service met with India’s Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in New Delhi, where officials discussed challenges faced by South Korean companies in India and explored ways to improve customs clearance. Training and closer institutional cooperation were also part of the discussions.
The development could prove significant for companies engaged in cross-border trade. More efficient customs procedures can reduce delays, improve predictability and make it easier for businesses to move goods between the two countries.
For South Korean exporters in particular, the talks signal a stronger effort to address practical barriers as India becomes an increasingly important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.
