According to Odaily, while the non-farm employment data has been the main focus of the labor market, the rise in U.S. continuing unemployment claims remains noteworthy. Last week, initial jobless claims decreased from 237,000 to 233,000, retreating from a nine-month high. Continuing unemployment claims reached 1.964 million, marking the highest level since November 2021. The Deep Tristate area, comprising Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, has significantly contributed to the increase in continuing claims, reaching its highest level since December 2021.
