According to PANews, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin announced on the X platform that the Ethereum client Geth has released version 1.16.0, which introduces archive nodes based on PBSS. This update significantly reduces the storage space required for a Geth archive node from over 20 TB to approximately 1.9 TB. Users can now query historical states, such as the balance at a specific block, although proofs for these historical states are not yet available.
