According to Odaily, Aptos Labs has partnered with Jump Crypto to officially launch Shelby, a high-performance decentralized hot storage network designed for real-time Web3 applications. Shelby aims to enhance streaming, AI data, social platforms, and DePIN scenarios by utilizing global high-performance nodes, fiber optic backbone, and an on-chain programmable architecture. This setup offers cloud-like read and write speeds and reliability, overcoming the centralization and performance limitations of traditional Web2 services. Shelby features sub-second response times, pay-as-you-go billing, token gating, DRM, smart contract permission control, and dynamic pricing capabilities.

Projects such as Story Protocol, Metaplex, and Pipe Network will be among the first to integrate Shelby, with NBCUniversal planning to adopt it for streaming scenarios, further exploring its potential as a cross-chain real-time infrastructure. The developer test network (Devnet) for Shelby is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, supporting multi-chain ecosystems including Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
