Kashkari Warns Trade Policy Uncertainty May Delay Fed Action Until After September

According to TechFlow, Federal Reserve Chairman Neel Kashkari stated on May 26 that ongoing tariff negotiations under the Trump administration are complicating the Fed’s ability to make clear interest rate decisions before September.

“Everything is possible, but will the situation be clear enough by September? I’m not sure yet,” Kashkari said.

He emphasized that major shifts in U.S. trade and immigration policy have clouded the economic outlook, limiting visibility for the central bank.
