According to PANews, Ethereum's blockchain has raised its block gas limit to 45 million units, marking a 25% increase from the previous limit of 36 million units set in February 2025. This change took effect at block number 22,968,004.

The increase to 45 million units is part of Ethereum's expansion roadmap. In the short term, validators aim for a gas limit of 60 million units, while the long-term plan involves achieving a 150 million gas limit through the upcoming Fusaka hard fork and EIP-7935. To mitigate risks, developers have introduced protective measures such as EIP-7983, which sets a single transaction gas usage cap at 16.77 million units to prevent denial-of-service attacks and ensure network stability.
