KYC (“Know Your Customer”) laws impose huge costs and potentially devastating risks on law-abiding customers, while imposing no difficulty at all on criminals. You know how much it costs to buy an exchange or bank account on a dark market? Like $50.
Vitalik just made a great point that toxic culture ends up serving as an immune system in only one direction, but actually makes your community *vulnerable* to bad actors coming from the other direction and presenting themselves as friends. 🤔
