The attacker will send you a MetaMask pop-up like:

"Sign to verify wallet" or "Sign message for dApp"

But in fact, it is permit() or Permit2 with
spender = hacker's wallet, value = 2^256-1.

You click "Sign" → your tokens are effectively approved entirely to the hacker.
No gas. No explorer log. But tokens still fly 🕳️

🧩 3️⃣ Why MetaMask makes you complacent

MetaMask displays "Sign typed data" or "Sign for verification"
without making it clear who you are signing permit() for.
That is why many people lose tokens without knowing why.

1️⃣ Look at the wallet popup (MetaMask / WalletConnect)
•"Signature Request" / "Sign" / "Sign Typed Data" → Stop, do not sign if unsure
•"Connect" / "Connect to site" → Usually just check the address, safer but still be careful

2️⃣ Open request details
•Click "Show details" / "Advanced" / the 3 dots → view raw data
•If you see JSON consisting of domain, types, message, primaryType → This is EIP‑712 typed data, needs careful checking

3️⃣ Look for dangerous keywords in the raw data
•spender, owner, value, deadline, nonce, permit, PermitSingle/Batch/Transfer → 🚩 warning permit/approval
•Only simple text like "I agree to connect" → low risk, but not absolute
