few observations: - people are (finally) putting more emphasis on real revenue - apps are what’s make chains valuable - chains should start focusing on distribution - L2s are fine, but only if they’re actually differentiated something is changing (hopefully)

real question: why is it harder for apps to raise money than infra?

the best UX isn’t about adding more features it’s rather removing every extra click or wallet popups until only *only* the essentials are left

prelaunch marketing is a completely different game than post tge but most projects just keep doing the same playbook over and over spoiler: it doesn’t work the second the token drops, the farmers leave they were never your community

rollups have two real paths to win: - distribution => get massive user bases and streamline them to your apps (ex: abstract & base) - differentiated tech => offer something so much better (faster, cheaper, more expressive) that devs want to switch (ex: megaeth & fluent) you probably have to be world class at one to survive long term

one of the worst mistakes crypto could make is assuming we don’t need more infra it’s not as sexy as apps but it’s what actually drives real growth and to be honest, we’re still far from having it right there’s a lot left to fix before we can onboard real users (and devs)

sometimes i’m really pissed at how low the quality bar is for apps in crypto so many teams just completely ignore the basics: product, UX, marketing, community feedback, basically everything that matters and the worst part? there’s not enough real competition, so no one really calls it out

no one’s really talking about it but DeFi is having a small renaissance right now with projects like euler, fluid (& pendle) and the best part? they’re building real products without crazy incentives to fake traction feels like the start of something healthier

the problem is most tokens were just plugged in after the fact it feels forced and it shows we ended up with tokens that have no real purpose, no clear role, no story that’s why we’re here now imo, with people (and even teams) struggling to explain why their token exists in the first place a token shouldn’t be an afterthought, it should be part of the design from day one (or not at all)

apps are what turn a chain from “just another L1” into something that actually matters it's where actual value gets created

we're in a tricky spot >90% of people have heard about crypto but most of them have the wrong idea they don’t see the tech, the potential, or the progress, because no one ever explained it to them in a way that actually made sense awareness -> there, understanding -> broken
