Bitfarms announced that it will gradually shut down its Bitcoin mining operations over the next two years and transform its mining sites into artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) data centers. The company stated that its 18-megawatt Bitcoin mining facility located in Washington State, USA, will be the first to complete the transition, expected to be ready by December 2026, at which point it will be fully dedicated to supporting AI and high-performance computing operations. CEO Ben Gagnon stated that the potential revenue from this project could exceed the company's past Bitcoin mining income. As a result, the company's stock price fell by about 18%. (Cointelegraph)
