● US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday evening that Washington had reached a new trade and economic agreement with Uzbekistan, under which the Central Asian country plans to invest heavily in key US industries.
● In a post on his Truth Social platform, Mr. Trump said Uzbekistan will invest nearly $35 billion in the United States over the next three years, rising to more than $100 billion over the next decade.
● Mr. Trump added that the capital will be directed to areas such as critical minerals, aviation, auto parts, infrastructure, agriculture, energy and chemicals, as well as information technology.
