🪙 Ethereum Deploys Fusaka Hard Fork in Testnets Ahead of Mainnet Launch
⚡ Ethereum developers have successfully activated the Fusaka upgrade in its final testnet, Hoodi. This event is the last step before its launch on the mainnet. The deployment of the Fusaka hard fork on the Ethereum mainnet is scheduled for December 3rd. Prior to this, the upgrade was also successfully tested on the Holesky and Sepolia testnets.
💡 Fusaka is a critically important phase in the Ethereum roadmap known as "The Surge". The upgrade is aimed at fundamentally improving the scalability, efficiency, and security of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
❗ In total, Fusaka will implement more than 10 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). The main one is EIP-7594, which introduces the PeerDAS (Peer Data Availability Sampling) protocol. This protocol will allow validators to check small parts of data (BLOBs), rather than entire blocks, which will significantly increase the data availability within the ecosystem.
🚀 Furthermore, the Fusaka upgrade will more than double the gas limit on Layer 1 (L1), which will expand the network's throughput.
