🇺🇸🇭🇺 According to a senior minister, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán hopes to gain an economic boost during his meeting next week with American President Donald Trump and seeks to ensure that Hungary can be protected from the effects of American sanctions against Russian oil. Cabinet Minister Gergely Gulyas stated Thursday at a press conference in Budapest that Trump and Orbán will sign protocols on energy, defense, as well as economic and financial agreements during their scheduled meeting on November 7 at the White House. He did not provide further details. Orbán has long been a supporter and ideological ally of Trump, but so far, the economic prosperity he envisioned with Trump’s return to power has not materialized. Hungary relies on export-driven growth but has not welcomed significant American investments, instead facing Trump’s protectionist agenda, including tariffs on European products.
