$HEMI @Hemi Here’s a quick summary of HEMI crypto: --- 🚀 What is HEMI? HEMI is a modular Layer-2 blockchain designed to unify Bitcoin’s security with Ethereum’s programmability. It runs a full Bitcoin node inside an Ethereum‐compatible runtime (called hVM, Hemi Virtual Machine), allowing developers to build smart contracts that can directly interact with Bitcoin’s state. It uses a security method called Proof-of-Proof (PoP), anchoring its state to Bitcoin’s blockchain periodically to inherit Bitcoin’s decentralization and censorship resistance. “Tunnels” are used in HEMI to allow trust-minimized transfers of assets between Bitcoin, HEMI, and Ethereum. --- 💰 Token & Economy Total supply: 10 billion HEMI tokens. Circulating supply at launch was much less (~ 9.8% of total) Token roles: 1. Paying transaction (gas) fees 2. Governance / voting on protocol upgrades 3. Potential staking / locking mechanisms (e.g. “veHEMI” mechanics mentioned in some descriptions) --- 📈 Key Milestones & Backing In August 2025, Hemi raised USD 15 million from investors (led by YZi Labs / Binance Labs among others) to support the protocol build-out. The network launched its mainnet with $440 million in value secured (or at least claimed) and a number of integrations (DEXes, oracles, etc.). Binance included HEMI in its HODLer Airdrop program. 100 million HEMI tokens (1% of supply) were reserved for BNB holders under certain conditions. --- ⚠️ Risks & Considerations HEMI is very new, so it carries high risk / high reward dynamics. Its architecture is novel and ambitious; adoption (developers building on it, users using it) will be a key test. The anchoring to Bitcoin via PoP reduces but does not eliminate all risks (e.g. implementation bugs, economic security, smart contract vulnerabilities). Token unlock / allocation schedules, liquidity, and ecosystem incentives are important to watch (as is common with new cryptos).
