According to TechFlow news on October 2, as reported by Jin10 data, insiders revealed that OpenAI has completed a transaction allowing current and former employees to sell company stock worth approximately $6.6 billion at a valuation of $500 billion.
This secondary sale has allowed the ChatGPT maker to surpass Musk's SpaceX and become the most valuable startup in the world. Previously, in a $40 billion funding round led by SoftBank, OpenAI was valued at $300 billion.
Insiders say that as part of this transaction, OpenAI employees sold shares to a group of investors, including Thrive Capital, SoftBank, Dragoneer Investment Group, Abu Dhabi's MGX, and T. Rowe Price.
