A sudden increase of more than 30% on September 23 after a brief post with the word “gm” on the account of former FTX platform founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, via platform X, which sparked a wide speculative wave in the market.
The token rose to a level of $1.20 before falling to around $0.97 with profit-taking, achieving daily gains of about 22% and weekly gains of up to 20%, while it increased by 7.9% over the past month. However, it is still 99% away from its all-time high of $84.19 in 2021.
The jump was accompanied by a significant increase in trading, as the spot trading volume surged by 281% to $49.6 million, while derivatives activity rose by more than 1,300% with open interest increasing by 38%, reflecting a rise in high-risk speculation.
Although a close associate confirmed that the post did not come from Bankman-Fried himself, the rapid interaction shows his account's ability to move the market, even after the collapse of FTX and the loss of any actual value or functional role of FTT
