The financial world as we know it is crumbling. Not in an explosion, but in a slow erosion. The money printer of governments erodes our purchasing power. Banks centralize our capital and become points of failure. Brokers, while useful, are realms with their own interests.
My instinct, and history, tells me that the financial system will be reset. Historically, 100% of fiat currencies have returned to their intrinsic value: zero.
In this scenario, the average investor has two options: hope for the best or build their own system.
I chose to build. I call this system the Citadel.
The Citadel is not a portfolio. It is a philosophy of financial sovereignty built to survive and thrive in any future, whether it be a dollar collapse or a "crypto apocalypse". It is based on three non-negotiable pillars:
Pillar 1: The Foundation of Real Value (Gold - $PAXG )
The foundation of any lasting structure must be made of something that cannot be invented out of nothing. For me, that material is gold. It is not an investment to get rich; it is the insurance policy to avoid becoming poor slowly. It is the anchor that keeps us steady while government currencies turn to dust. In the scenario of a total reset, even of the crypto system itself, tokenized gold ($PAXG) would be the last pillar standing, the only asset on the blockchain with value in the physical world.
Pillar 2: The Sovereign Cash (Decentralized Money - $DAI)
Our liquidity, our "working capital", cannot remain hostage to a banking system that can block us at any moment. That is why the heart of my cash is $DAI. Unlike centralized stablecoins (USDC, FDUSD) that would go to zero with the dollar, DAI has a survival mechanism. It is backed by crypto assets and, in a collapse, it would turn into a rescue bond on those assets, preserving the wealth of its holders. It is the money that banks cannot touch, freeze, or control.
Pillar 3: The Bet on New Infrastructure (The Builders of the Future)
With the defense secured, we can attack. But we do not attack with empty speculation. We attack by investing in the "bricks" and "tools" that will build the decentralized future.
