🔍 What is SLF and what did Binance announce
SLF, or Self Chain, is a token listed on Binance, among other exchanges.
Binance announced that it will delist SLF (as well as BAKE and HIFI) on September 17, 2025, in the spot pairs.
The official reason given by Binance is that SLF no longer meets its listing standards after a routine review.
⚙️ Specific reasons behind this delisting
Binance has a set of criteria for maintaining listings, and when a token does not meet them, it may be delisted. In the case of SLF, reports indicate several factors:
Volume and liquidity: SLF has lost significant volume; after the delisting announcement, a portion of the trading shifts away from main users, weakening liquidity.
Decreasing interest: There are signs of lower community or institutional interest according to reports — less activity, fewer relevant news for the project.
Compliance with platform standards: Binance reviews criteria such as development activity, team transparency, project commitment, governance, tokenomics, regulatory risks, etc. SLF apparently failed to meet some of those requirements in the recent review.
📈 What has happened to the price and behavior after the announcement
After the delisting announcement, SLF suffered a sharp decline (~-25%) quickly.
But then, there was a speculative bounce: the token rose quite a bit in a short period, probably due to tactical purchases, traders looking to take advantage of the 'last moment' before delisting, and covering short positions.
This type of movements tends to be very volatile, and does not necessarily indicate that the token has a robust bullish future. Rather, liquidity floors, speculation, etc.
⚠️ What it implies for SLF holders
As of September 17, 2025, SLF will no longer be traded on spot on Binance.
After that day, it is recommended to withdraw the tokens if you have them on Binance, or move them to exchanges that continue to support SLF, because liquidity on Binance will drop significantly.
Binance will also suspend deposits after September 18, and later disable withdrawals, according to the announcement.
✅ What can be expected?
The delisting from Binance is usually a bearish signal in the medium term for a token, especially if it does not have other strong liquid markets. SLF will likely see additional losses after losing access to the largest market.
