Senate Faces Challenges in Confirming Milan for Federal Reserve Board

U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Milan for the Federal Reserve Board. The Senate is working on confirming this, but the process may not finish in time for Milan to join next week’s Federal Reserve meeting.

Senator Lummis from the Finance Committee said that even with new procedures, confirming Milan will take time. On Wednesday, the Finance Committee is expected to vote on whether to send the nomination to the full Senate.

Democrats will likely vote against, while Republicans, with a 13–11 majority, are expected to support moving it forward. A final Senate vote could happen as early as next Monday, but the timing is still unclear.
