1. What is value investing? Everyone has a different understanding, and my understanding is:
1. Can the tokens you hold yield the entire project's profits when they perform well!
2. Besides price appreciation and arbitrage, are there any additional returns (risk-free)? DEFI carries risks, while staking and passive investment are considered risk-free.
3. Is there growth expectation? This is a personal opinion.
2. Is there really such a target?
1. Platform tokens,
In fact, we all know that BNB meets these demands. Let's assume that three years ago you bought 100 BNB at a price of 200 USD. You could stake it in listdao and earn an annual yield of about 5%. By holding BNB, you can receive some airdrops, and if you're a bit more aggressive, you can use CBNB/BNB for DEFI. Although there is no complete data, an annual yield of 15% is achievable. Therefore, your returns would be 100 * 115% * 115% * 115% = 152 BNB. Moreover, the token price has already reached 800, so your profit increases from 20,000 USD to 120,000 USD, far exceeding the increase of 80,000 USD. In a horizontal comparison, let's assume you also bought OKB at 50 USD, and now it is 200, your profit is also 80,000. Other tokens like GT, BGB, MTN, etc., will more or less generate additional returns. The conclusion is that BNB has investment value, while other platform tokens only have a little bit of it.
2. Public chain,
Does BTC meet the criteria? In fact, BTC does not meet it, though some projects are working on BDEFI, it still doesn't work. It can gain some additional profits but carries risks! So BTC is suitable for storage.
Does ETH meet the criteria? A few years ago, ETH was fully DEFI prosperous and met what I considered necessary conditions, but in these past two years, its value is merely in node staking, and there are no other additional profits. Moreover, Ethereum is inflationary, and we cannot enjoy it, so I believe Ethereum also lacks value investment potential.
Does SOL meet the criteria? So SOL is also inflationary, but whether it's BSOL or other CEX's SOL or on-chain like JUP, RAY, etc., they can provide additional returns for SOL. So besides enjoying SOL's account, we can also gain other profits. Its ecosystem has been very prosperous in the past two years, so I believe it has value investment potential.
APT and SUI, emerging public chains, because SUI is successful, while APT is not, actually the logic is the same; SUI has more value investment potential.
3. Large protocol mainstream coins,
AAVE and MKR, protocols on Ethereum, do not meet the above value investment; in fact, it is more about staking Ethereum to gain profits, indicating that Ethereum has investment value rather than their tokens.
LINK is not understood, no comment.
There are many others that can be considered scams, unless the protocol is particularly excellent and has created its specific product, otherwise there is no need to buy any of them.
4. DEX,
CAKE and UNI, in fact, we can see that no matter how high their returns are, they cannot bring us profits, while the prices of tokens are volatile, so they belong only to speculation.
AERO and THE represent the new type of protocol (3,3), through locking tokens to gain token issuance and the entire protocol's fee profits. I believe it has value investment attributes, but THE cannot gain BSC profits due to CAKE, so growth is limited. However, AERO has already become the largest exchange on BASE, occasionally surpassing UNI in trading volume, so I believe this type of token is worth buying. AERO is a very good token.
5. Old brand altcoins
Completely worthless, LTC, ETC, DASH, etc., are all going to zero; doge is also considered a special product of MEME altcoins.
6. MEME coins
Except for doge, others also go to zero, just short-term speculation.
Three, how to value invest,
1. Actually, everything I say is hindsight, because what I know now are all successes. However, it is not difficult to see that every token with value investment potential has profitability.
2. Large public chains, and the ecosystem must be thriving; the ecosystem means that this token must have demand.
3. Sharp-eyed, finding top protocols and sharing profits like SIGN, AERO, etc.
4. Stay away from altcoins and contracts; they make you unhappy. Control your desires.
The future of cryptocurrency is still bright, and very valuable investment targets will appear.
If you believe there are tokens with value investment potential, please let me know, I would be very grateful. I buy tokens with this mindset; do you think I can make it to the other side?
