'Traffic Advisory for DU Central Student Union (DUCSU) Election'
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued special traffic directives for Tuesday in anticipation of the Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) elections. Several control measures, including diversions, have been implemented on roads within the university area and its surroundings.
The instructions were announced in a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sajjad Ali on Monday.
Key Traffic Diversion Points:
According to the directive, vehicle access will be controlled and diverted at the following major intersections:
Shahbag Crossing
High Court Crossing
Nilkhet Crossing
Shahidullah Hall Crossing
Palashi Crossing
Instructions for Drivers:
The notice requests that vehicles heading towards Dhaka University use alternative routes instead of entering the campus due to the DUCSU election. However, ambulances and other emergency services will be exempt from these diversions.
Furthermore, the DMP has specifically urged drivers and commuters in the metropolitan area to avoid the mentioned crossings and surrounding roads as much as possible throughout the day.
