Tempo — a #blockchain co-developed by Stripe and Paradigm.

Stripe and #crypto investment firm Paradigm launched Tempo on September 4, 2025 — a first-tier blockchain specifically designed for stablecoin payments. It supports transactions up to 100,000 TPS and "sub-second finality," with the ability to pay stablecoin fees via a built-in AMM system, eliminating the need for a native token.

It has global partners as design partners, including Visa, Deutsche Bank, OpenAI, Shopify, Nubank, and Revolut. Tempo will operate as an independent company under the leadership of Paradigm's Matt Huang.

While many believe Tempo has the potential to drive stablecoin adoption and compete with Ethereum and Solana, concerns remain about the network's neutrality and regulatory issues, as well as whether Tempo will be able to stand out in a market already dominated by established players.

Summary:

A New Libra? Some have compared Tempo to "Libra v2" — but in a more conducive environment, it has a better chance of success.

#Ethereum killer? It's too early to tell, but if Tempo can attract real transaction volume and users, it could become a strong alternative to the #stablecoin market.
