Binance Futures has announced an update to the funding rate settlement frequency of USDⓈ-M perpetual contracts, aimed at improving trading efficiency and aligning with market conditions.


Key Update


Effective 2025-09-01 00:00 (UTC), if the funding rate of any USDⓈ-M perpetual contract with an hourly settlement frequency remains less than or equal to ±0.002% for 36 consecutive cycles, Binance will revert the funding settlement frequency from every one hour to every four hours starting from the 37th cycle.


This change is part of Binance’s ongoing review of product parameters to ensure a fair and optimized trading environment.


TREEUSDT Contract Adjustment


The TREEUSDT USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contract is specifically affected:



  • If the funding rate stays within ±0.002% for every hourly cycle between 2025-08-30 03:00 (UTC) and 2025-08-31 14:00 (UTC), the settlement frequency will be adjusted to every four hours starting from 2025-08-31 16:00 (UTC).


  • Following the adjustment, funding payments will occur at 00:00, 04:00, 08:00, 12:00, 16:00, and 20:00 (UTC).


Example Funding Timeline (Max Rate: ±2.00%)



  • 2025-08-31 13:00 (UTC) – Hourly


  • 2025-08-31 14:00 (UTC) – Hourly


  • 2025-08-31 16:00 (UTC) – Four-hour interval begins


  • 2025-08-31 20:00 (UTC) – Four-hour


  • 2025-09-01 00:00 (UTC) – Four-hour


If the funding rate exceeds ±0.002% at any point within the monitoring window, the adjustment will not be applied.


Implementation Notes



  • The adjustment process will be completed within 15 minutes once conditions are met. For example, if the transition is triggered at 08:00 (UTC), traders will see the update reflected by 08:15 (UTC).


  • A separate announcement will be made should Binance decide to adjust these parameters in the future.
