$222.90cr remittances received in 30 days of August.

Expatriate Bangladeshis have sent home $222.90 crore in remittances during the first 30 days of August, the central bank says.

During this time, the country received $7.43 crore in remittances every day on average, according to Bangladesh Bank (BB) data released Sunday (Aug 31).

At the same time last year, Bangladesh received remittance worth $218.70 crore indicating a 1.90 percent year-on-year increase.

Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $125.51 crore in remittances during July.
