Tell a story that has always weighed on my mind
Recently inspired, I want to share a story that has been deep in my heart.
A few years ago, I met a person who was quite successful in the cryptocurrency space, and I can even say he was very successful. His projects were well-executed, financing went smoothly, and he truly had the capability. Everyone believed he had a bright future ahead.
But he suddenly passed away around the age of 30. It wasn't an accident, nor was it due to misfortune; he just couldn't hold on psychologically and chose to end his life. He was too much of a perfectionist, too afraid of making mistakes. He allowed only upward movement in his life, intolerant of any setbacks. In this high-volatility world, he tried to live a life with a perfect curve devoid of noise. In the end, he pushed himself to the brink.
We often force our life achievements onto our younger selves in their twenties and thirties. As if at this age, one should have all the answers, should see the big picture at a glance, and should complete a life cycle at the speed of genius.
But reality is never linear. The world is changing, trends are shifting, and opportunities and risks come crashing in like waves. In such an uncertain era, it’s easy for people to feel anxious, flustered, and self-doubting.
However, long-termism is precisely the only way to navigate through this uncertainty.
It is not about waiting blindly, nor is it self-comfort; rather, it is the ability to continuously accumulate amidst chaos. When others are eager to race, you are willing to slow down; when others frequently change direction, you persist in honing yourself. In a constantly changing world, you choose to establish your own anchor—endurance, rhythm, judgment, and that willingness to bet long-term.
True certainty is not given by the environment; it is created by yourself. Don't rush to become someone. You may not have erupted yet, you may still be silent, you may not have been seen. But please remember, the most worthwhile victory does not depend on who started earlier, but on who perseveres deeper.
Living is victory, and only by staying at the table can you have a chance for a comeback.
