What is WLFI?
World Liberty Financial (WLF) is a DeFi and cryptocurrency firm launched in 2024, prominently backed by the Trump family. It includes two primary tokens:
WLFI: An ERC-20 “governance” token.
USD1: A fully-backed stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar.
WLF is 60% owned by the Trump family (via a holding entity), entitling them to 75% of all token sale proceeds. Donald Trump holds the title “Chief Crypto Advocate,” Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are “Web3 Ambassadors,” and Barron Trump is touted as the “DeFi Visionary.”
The stablecoin USD1 is pegged to real assets like U.S. treasuries and has seen rapid adoption—by April 2025, the circulation reached around $2.1 billion, making it one of the fastest-growing stablecoins.
