Ten years of ups and downs in the cryptocurrency world, retail investors have become a mountain of corpses. At its root, it's not about a lack of technical skills or poor information, but rather about one word: 'greed.' This greed is like a maggot in the bone, distorting the mind, blinding the eyes, causing countless people to rush in, losing everything.
The first manifestation is 'chasing the rise and killing the fall, dreaming of getting rich quickly.' In the crypto world, one day equals a year in the real world, with fluctuations far exceeding any market. Retail investors are always driven by FOMO (fear of missing out), rushing in without hesitation when Bitcoin breaks its previous high, fearing to fall behind and miss the chance to leap into a higher class. A slight pullback sends them into a panic, leading to panic selling, perfectly achieving high buying and low selling. Their thoughts are all about 'financial freedom' and 'hundredfold myths,' turning investment into gambling, attempting to turn things around overnight, completely ignoring risks, ultimately becoming prey in the jaws of whales.
The second is 'blindly believing in myths, losing independence.' They constantly entrust their fate to the words of others, firmly believing in the calls of big shots, Twitter mysticism, and the dreams of countless altcoins. They would rather take risks in thousands of worthless coins, chasing the next 'Dogecoin,' than calmly study the Bitcoin whitepaper. Brainwashed by one wealth legend after another, they fantasize that they are the chosen ones, when in reality, they are merely the leeks accurately harvested by project parties. Independent judgment is sacrificed to the greedy herd effect, only waking up when their principal has been reduced to zero.
The third and most fatal aspect is 'knowledge-action split, completely undisciplined.' They know they should set stop-losses but always fantasize about a V-shaped rebound at the next moment; they know leverage is a toxic poison that can wipe out their capital but still risk everything for a last-ditch effort. During a crash, they numb themselves with 'value investing,' and when there's a slight rebound, they can't wait to 'cash in,' never truly capturing the real trend. Without plans, risk control, or position management, driven solely by emotions, greed causes them to jump back and forth between being 'stuck' and 'missing out,' ultimately exhausting every bit of their principal.
A decade is just a dream; the crypto world has never changed. The harvester is always that harvester, with only the leeks changing from season to season. If retail investors cannot face the greed in their hearts and establish ironclad rules, then no matter how many decades pass, the outcome is already predetermined—starting from the dream of getting rich, ending with going to zero.
In the past, one would bump around in the dark; now, the light is in my hands.
The light is always on; will you follow? @币来财888
