With the explosive growth of Rollup and the multi-chain ecosystem, inter-chain communication protocols have become the focus of new infrastructure in Web3. WalletConnect, although initially a wallet connection tool, is expanding its underlying protocol towards 'inter-chain communication middleware'. Especially in version V2, it has implemented multi-session, concurrent connections, and multi-account management, enabling a single connection system to support all wallets and chains.

Recently, WalletConnect launched the Explorer SDK, allowing developers to build custom Wallet Lists, supporting the integration of self-custody wallets, branded wallets, or enterprise accounts. This improvement will greatly enhance Dapp composability and customization experience, adapting to more vertical application needs.

It is worth mentioning that its Signal Relay module has also been open-sourced, meaning WalletConnect is gradually decoupling from its original centralized architecture, transitioning towards a modular, decentralized relay network. This will enhance the protocol's resistance to censorship and allow community nodes to jointly operate communication channels.

WalletConnect is evolving towards a 'decentralized communication standard' in a very pragmatic and robust manner, connecting not only user wallets but also protocols, chains, and modules, serving as one of the core bridges for building the Open Web. #WalletConnect @WalletConnect $WCT
