Web3's vitality remains undiminished! What highlights does WEBX have?

Asia's largest Web3 event, WebX, grandly opened on August 25, next to Tokyo Tower at the Tokyo Prince Hotel Park Tower. Top entrepreneurs, technology experts, policymakers, and investors from around the world gathered to discuss the future directions of blockchain technology, decentralized finance, and the metaverse.

What fun highlights does this event have? Let's follow the footsteps of (WEB3+) to find out!

Highlight One: From Ichiban Shō to Shopping Street Prize Draw, a full Japanese atmosphere!

Originally arriving on-site with some doubts, after all, during this seemingly lackluster period for groundbreaking new topics, it was uncertain what exciting highlights the WebX exhibition could bring.

However, the moment I stepped into the exhibition area, all worries vanished. The throngs of people, the creatively displayed booths, and the atmosphere of enthusiastic discussions among attendees immediately conveyed the abundant vitality of Web3. Especially seeing many once-popular projects that had disappeared is truly touching, making one feel, 'So you are all still alive and well!'

Even more surprisingly, despite the constantly changing market trends, projects related to games, NFTs, and various applications still account for about half of the exhibition.

Multiple well-known Web3 projects have conducted in-depth collaborations with Japanese anime IPs, showcasing limited edition NFTs and launching blockchain games and metaverse content themed around popular characters.

Many booths have adopted Japan's traditional 'Ichiban Shō' or 'Shopping Street Prize Draw' model, where visitors can receive prize draw tickets by completing specific tasks or interacting with booths.

These prize draw activities have rich rewards, ranging from Bitcoin, exclusive limited NFTs, physical merchandise, to service discount vouchers from partners, making each interaction full of surprises and truly creating a sense of playing and enjoying the exhibition!

Highlight Two: Gamified Interactive Experience, LINE Mini APP Point Challenge

In this WebX 2025 exhibition, there is a section primarily promoting Mini APPs that are deeply integrated with the LINE ecosystem.

LINE Mini App is a lightweight application integrated within the LINE messaging software. It does not require users to download or install a separate app; it can be directly opened and used within the LINE main interface.

Within the venue, there are many existing mini-games; as long as tasks (following, playing games, taking photos, prize draws, etc.) are completed, participants can collect stamps and finally return to the counter for a prize draw.

Highlight Three: Stress-relief Massage and Tea Ceremony Experience

In the exhibition filled with digital information and technology displays, WebX 2025 has created a 'mind and body oasis' for attendees. This dedicated area offers professional stress-relief massage services, allowing everyone to relax and regain energy amid a busy schedule.

Adjacent to the stress-relief massage area is a tranquil 'Japanese Tea Ceremony Experience' space. A kimono-clad tea master elegantly serves visitors cups of matcha, allowing them to experience Japanese aesthetics and Zen in a serene atmosphere.

Highlight Four: Political and Business Leaders Gather on Stage

The WebX venue is not only a showcase for technology and applications but also a center for idea exchange. The exhibition has set up multiple stages for simultaneous high-standard speeches and forums.

This event again highlights the Japanese government's firm support for the Web3 industry. Not only have global Web3 leaders gathered, but many important figures from traditional financial institutions and large corporations in Japan's non-Web3 fields will also take the stage to share their observations about the industry.

Representatives from heavyweight companies such as SBI Holdings and Toyota have taken the stage to share how traditional industries embrace and utilize blockchain technology to achieve business transformation and innovation, demonstrating that Web3 in Japan has evolved from a mere tech craze into a solid force for cross-industry collaboration.

Highlight Five: A Lot of Vibrant and Imaginative Side Events

The charm of WebX 2025 lies not only in the formal agenda during the day but also in the diversity and creativity of its surrounding activities.

For example, yesterday (25th), the venue hosted the historical first 'Blockchain Wedding' in Japan, where participants could witness the eternal vows of the newlyweds being written into the blockchain and experience how Web3 integrates with significant life moments.

In addition to the after-party of WebX, Tokyo's night is also showcasing its diverse appearances and endless energy. Various after-parties combining music, unlimited drinks, and even poker provide an excellent occasion for transitioning from formal exchanges to relaxed socializing, allowing attendees to establish deeper connections in a cyberpunk atmosphere.

Overall, although there was a lack of eye-catching interesting projects or narratives, the activities at WebX seem to rekindle the vibrant spirit of Web3 that has never faded.
