1confirmation Founder Speaks Out: ETH Institutional Holdings Outstrip BTC by Several Streets! No Monopoly, Multiple Forces Driving Forward is Key
Crypto Circle Big Shots Continue to Share Sharp Insights! According to ChainCatcher, Nick Tomaino, the founder of the well-known crypto venture capital firm 1confirmation, publicly compared the institutional holding structures of BTC and ETH, stating that "ETH is healthier," with the underlying reason pointing directly to the "monopoly risk" in BTC holdings.
Nick Tomaino pointed out a key issue with the core players in the BTC camp, Strategy: Founder Michael Saylor holds only 10% of the company's shares but controls 45% of the voting rights, and Strategy alone holds 3.3% of the total global Bitcoin supply. More critically, Saylor frequently occupies the media spotlight as a "Bitcoin spokesperson," creating a strong dominance over BTC institutional holdings.
In contrast, the situation with ETH is completely different. Nick Tomaino mentioned that among ETH-related institutions, there are no "high-weight single holders" like Saylor, and multiple companies such as SBET, ETHZ, GAME, etc., are jointly promoting the development of the Ethereum ecosystem, forming a holding and development pattern of "no monopoly, multiple forces working in parallel." He believes that it is precisely this more decentralized and balanced structure that makes Wall Street institutions and retail investors more willing to support ETH.
