ARBITRUM: the fast and cheap route that is winning the race on Ethereum.

Ethereum would be like the main avenue in your neighborhood: safe, everyone knows it, but during rush hour it is slow and expensive to navigate. The fees are high and if there is congestion, it takes you twice as long to arrive.

Arbitrum is the parallel street that was paved some time ago. It follows the same path as the avenue, but with less traffic and synchronized traffic lights.

Same destination, but faster and spending less 'fuel' (gas).

Technically — explained simply — Arbitrum works as an assistant to Ethereum: instead of processing each transaction one by one, it gathers many, organizes them, and sends Ethereum a single 'package' for validation.

This maintains security but reduces costs and speeds everything up.

In practice, for any user it means two things:

1. You pay lower fees.

2. Transactions are confirmed faster (trading, transfers, games, etc.).

Today it leads the L2 ranking with about 2,500 M USD locked and an active ecosystem of DeFi, DEX, games, and more. It is, basically, the most efficient way to do the same as on Ethereum, but without the cost or the wait.
