Trump vs. Lisa Cook: Who Leads the Federal Reserve... Economists or Twitter?
In America these days, the topic is no longer 'monetary policy' or 'inflation', it's turned into more of a comedy series. 🤦♂️
🔹 Trump decided that he must fire Lisa Cook, a member of the Federal Reserve, due to allegations of 'mortgage fraud'. Well folks, the issue is legally very complicated, but for Trump? It's just a tweet and enthusiasm.
🔹 Cook responded to him simply saying: 'I will not be intimidated' 💪. In short, she is not going to leave her position just because the president is angry.
🔹 The best part is that firing a Fed member must have a very strong reason. But it's clear that the only reason Trump has is that he needs people to lower interest rates quickly before the elections, so that the economy appears 'vibrant'.
⚖️ The result? We might end up with a Hollywood scenario: the president suing the Fed, the Fed responding, and the Supreme Court turning into a political football field.
The American economy in 2025 is running on a new basis:
Not 'supply and demand'
Nor 'inflation and unemployment'
But 'a tweet and a decision'!
